what is Infinity Mirror?

An infinity mirror occurs when two reflective surfaces ‘bounce a beam of light back and forth an indefinite (theoretically infinite) number of times’.

Just like the light in an infinity mirror, your creative ideas are a radically renewable resource, available in abundance any time you enter your project.

Infinity Mirror is mentoring for writers who want to work with beauty, illumination, and infinite possibility in order to get tangible results.

The core focus of the program is the completion of a writing project, but it is designed like an infinity mirror - to help you to use your creative ideas to sustain a lifetime of projects.

How will we work with the concept of the infinity mirror?

This mentoring programme is inspired by artists who have used infinity mirrors in their work (Yayoi Kusama, Arvo Pärt, Guillame Lachapelle).

It is also inspired by Kening Zhu’s concept of the glacier, and the crystal from ‘The Snow Queen’ that allows the viewer to look into endless realms.

Infinity Mirror recognises the multitudes that we all contain, and the boundless creativity available to all of us.

It is not always easy to see into the infinity mirror – the silver is sometimes worn, the glass cracked, the crystal dulled.

But, together, we will work with intention and curiosity to allow your project to emerge in its most authentic and radical form.

To illuminate the endless realms that live inside all of us.
